Delayed sensitivity testing is completed by taking blood and looking at the IgG immunoglobulins. This a delayed reaction that the body may have to foods that they consume.
A delayed reaction to foods can happen anywhere from 2 hours to 4 days after consumption. The IgG are present in all body fluids, but don’t release histamine or create the hypersensitivity reaction like itching, hives, flushing, swelling etc that are found with IgE allergic reactions. IgE testing is often skin scratch testing.
Instead an IgG allergy can cause bloating, headaches, mood changes, nausea, and fatigue to state a few. This test will measure 93 common foods that are found in the standard American diet. With elimination of these foods, symptoms of RA, IBS and ADHD could improve.
