Spectracell Micronutrient Test

Serum Test

Not available in NY state

Price: $350

Micronutrient testing from Spectracell measures 31 vitamins, minerals, amino/fatty acids, antioxidants, and metabolites that the body uses. These tests allow nutritional assessment of patients for a broad variety of clinical conditions, general wellness and the management of chronic diseases.

Regular tests that are run at your general practitioner’s office are called a serum test. Serum is what your body is needing and using at the time the blood is drawn. Static serum levels are not always representative indicators for assessing cell metabolism and utilization. When your body needs a nutrient, the static serum will show that the nutrient is in the system. Nutrients are often 30% or more deficient before it shows up “low” on a serum test.

Spectracell tests the lymphocytes, which are produced in the bone marrow. This is the storage site of micronutrients.  Thus the MNT measurements provide a portrait of each patients’ long-term nutrient status.

Factors Effecting Nutrient Status

  • Dietary Intake, Absorption, Receptors, Genetic Influences
  • Activation, Metabolism, Excretion, Hormonal Status
  • Disease processes, Lifestyle Factors, Medications, Age/Gender
  • Cultural/Ethnic, Pregnancy, Exercise, Smoking/Alcohol
