Rotator cuff is a broad term used to describe the four muscles that attach to tendons of the shoulder. The subscapularis, which assists the shoulder in turning inward, supraspinatus that assists in lifting the shoulder up, infraspinatus, and teres minor that assist in turning the shoulder outwards.

These muscles can be damaged from a fall, overhead motions, or repetitive motions used in sports or work related actions. The muscles are often overworked and fatigued.

Resting and icing the affected muscles can alleviate some of the pain, but won’t always fix the overworked muscles. Often times, passive therapy followed by rehabilitation of the four muscles is the key to decreasing pain and preventing re-occurance of the injury. Within the first few sessions at Cornerstone, we can have you out of pain. With proper rehabilitation and strengthening of the muscles, we can get you back to your usual activities.

Early treatment can result in healing these conditions without the need for expensive surgery. Dr. Gomach can help you overcome this problem rapidly. Treatment will be tailored to your needs as you get the chance to spend time with the Doctor one on one every visit.
